Nine is lucky for YSR?
Everybody knows nine is the lucky number for Telugu Desam. Both its founder president N T Rama Rao and his successor N Chandrababu Naidu followed this lucky number formula.
But, it now appears it is the lucky number even for the Congress and for Chief Minister Dr Y S Rajasekhara Reddy. On Friday, when he beat the drum to kick off the Congress campaign, it had the magic numbers written on it: 234 MLAs and 36 MPs. The numbers adding together will give nine. And the muhurtam for beating the drum was 9.45 am!
In 2004 Assembly elections, the Congress had won 186 Assembly seats, but there were three associated members Including them, the number grew to 189, and again, the digits adding together became 9. So, can we assume that YSR was also treating nine as his lucky number?
