Kommuri Appala Swamy to join Chiranjeevi Rajyam

Kommuri Appala Swamy, senior Congress leader and former member of the Lok Sabha from Visakhapatnam has decided to resign from the primary membership of the Congress and join the Praja Rajyam Party. He would be the second senior leader after Penumatsa Sambasiva Raju to quit the Congress. Mr. Kommuri said on Tuesday that many more senior party leaders in the three North Andhra districts would follow suit and they all would announce their resignations at a press conference to be convened after his son-in-law K. Raghuram, who would be the PRP nominee for Nellimarla Assembly constituency, returned from Hyderabad.
