Praja Rajyam hits Phase II stride

With the completion of the first phase of elections, the Praja Rajyam Party has got into stride for Phase 2 to be held on April 23.
Vice-President Devender Goud began the campaign in the Andhra region today. He will be covering East and West Godavari, Krishna and Nellore districts.
Chiranjeevi, meanwhile, is continuing his campaign in Krishna district and will move to the Rayalaseema region in the next few days, winding up his poll drive in Tirupati on the 21 of this month. Yuva Rajyam president Pawan Kalyan and Nagendrababu too are in the thick of campaigning. Party general secretary Allu Arvind is in charge of the overall coordination.
Since no clear trend has emerged from the first phase, the PRP is going all-out in Andhra and Rayalaseema.
While party general secretary Devender Goud has stated that the PRP will win 70 Assembly seats, Allu Aravind predicted a keen contest and declined to come up with a number.
It may be recalled that there have been serious intra-party problems, resulting in senior leaders like political affairs committee members KSR Murthy and P Upendra staying home.
Party general secretary Dr Mitra, who has considerable influence in Nellore district, is also keeping a low profile.
