Congress announces 24 MP candidates for UP

The Congress announced 24 MP (loksabha) candidates for upcoming General loksabha elections, on Wednesday, March 4th in Uttar Pradesh for upcoming Lok Sabha polls.

Out of 24 seats, nine candidates are sitting MPs. It is believed that possibility of Samajawadi Party-Congress alliance in Uttar Pradesh has failed as Congress refused to settle for anything less than 25 seats out of 80 seats in UP during a meeting with the SP chief Mulayam Singh Yadav in Delhi on Sunday. Yet it is believed that alliance option with SP is still open as Congress party general secretary in-charge of the state Digvijay Singh indicated the possibility of a second list.

The list of announced Congress MP candidates includes:

* Bhola Pandey (Salempur),
* Hairendra Malik (Muzaffarnagar),
* Jagdambika Pal (Dumariaganj),

* Noor Bano (Rampur),
* P L Puniya (Barabanki),
* Praveen Aron (Bareilly),
* R P N Singh (Kushinagar),
* Raj Babbar (Fatehpur Sikari),
* Ratna Singh (Pratapgarh),
* Salman Khursheed (Farrukhabad),
* Sanjay Singh (Sultanpur)
* Sudha Rai (Ghosi).
