The Prajarajyam Party on Monday appealed to voters not to fall prey to the promises being made by “cheats” like Congress and TDP.

Cautioning people against the drama being enacted by both the Congress and TDP to prevent PRP from gaining any political space in the state, party general secretary Allu Aravind said, “There seems to be a tacit understanding among both the parties going by the track record exhibited during their respective tenures in the past. None of the parties were keen to pursue any case of corruption against the other and made a mockery of the Assembly proceedings. Both are thieves and both parties are trying hard to convince the voter that they would do them the best.”

He took objection to the rhetoric of the chief minister, who has been cautioning people in Rayalaseema and coastal areas on the likely damage they would suffer if they voted for the TDP-led Grand Alliance. “How can a chief minister talk like this? He started making certain objectionable statements as soon as the first phase of polling came to an end on April 16. How can he justify his stance when Congress party itself had aligned with the TRS during the 2004 elections,” he questioned.

The PRP leader asked the voters to be wary of the promises being made by “all-free babu”, who is promising everything under the sun for free. “I feel ashamed at the freebies list being announced by Naidu. The list is an insult to the people of this state. His sole intention is to come to power at any cost. He is willing to go to any extent for a victory. The party has also started issuing forms for enrolling people in the cash-transfer scheme,” he rued.

Allu asked the TDP as to why the party was keeping the TRS away during the second phase of elections. “Our party has taken a clear stance. We will separate like brothers without any animosity. The TDP must spell out reasons behind not inviting its grand alliance member TRS for the huge public meeting in Tirupati. The TDP must explain its stance to voters in coastal areas and Rayalaseema on the issue,” he said.

Referring to Congress leader Dasari Narayan Rao’s remarks against PRP chief, Allu questioned Rao’s intention in staying away from campaigning for his party in Palakollu against Chiranjeevi. “He has no right to talk against Chiranjeevi. Dasari is jealous that there is a better leader in the community than him called Chiranjeevi,” he said.

Urging voters to trust Prajarajyam, Allu called upon the people to continue their silent revolution by casting votes in large numbers to usher in a new political change in the state.
