Around 80 per cent voters exercised their franchise in the repolling held due to non-functioning of and damage to EVMs or rigging. Speaking to reporters later, Chief Electoral Officer IV Subba Rao said that with today’s repolling, the polling process had been completed in the State. The arrangements for counting would start on Monday. Counting supervisors and counting agents of various political parties would be identified from tomorrow onwards. Rao said that of the 11 persons charged with rigging in Kandukur in Prakasam district, four were arrested today. The CEO asked police officials to arrest the others also as soon as possible. Polling agents of Congress and TDP cast votes on behalf of voters. The video clippings clearly showed the polling agents asking the voters whom to vote for, Rao said.
