Tanushree Dutta is an Indian film actress. She won the Femina Miss India universe title in 2004.

Tanushree Dutta was born and raised in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand state (then Bihar). She did her schooling from Jamshedpur and graduated from Pune University.In 2005, the Government of Jharkhand honored her by releasing postcards and stamps featuring her. Her first Bollywood film was in 2005. She worked on two films simultaneously Chocolate and Aashiq Banaya Apne.

She won the Femina Miss India 2004 competition held in Mumbai, and was placed in the top ten in the Miss Universe 2004 pageant held in Quito, Ecuador

The Punjab School Education Board came into existence through a legislative enactment in November 1969 for the development and promotion of school education in the state of Punjab. In 1987, the Vidhan Sabha amended the Board’s Act to grant it autonomy. The scope of Board’s functions is very wide and covers almost every aspect/stage of school education.

At present, the Punjab School Education Board conducts the public Examinations at Middle, Matriculation and Senior Secondary level. The following Examination reforms are introduced by the Board from the academic year 2010-11.

1. The Middle Standard Examination will be conducted at the school level.
2. Semester System is introduced in class X & XII by the Board to bring about qualitative improvement in school education. This is in continuation with the Semester system introduced at school level in class IX & XI from academic year 2009-10. Continuous and comprehensive evaluation is introduced along with Semester system.

The Punjab School Education Board came into being under an Act of Legislation in 1969, amended in 1987, 2000 and 2005.

(1) Subject to the provisions of this Act, the Board shall exercise and perform the following powers and functions, namely

(i) prescribe the syllabi, courses of the studies and text books for school education;

(ii) organize reserach for grading of textual vocabulary and arrange for regular revision of text books and other books;

(iii) hold examinations for school education, publish the results of such examinations and grant certificates to the persons, who have passed such examinations

The Punjabi reference Library has been created to build up a strong collection on Punjab history, culture, language and literature. The rich collection of over 1, 00,000 documents, of which around 58,000 have been donated by noted littérateurs and historians, add to the proud privilege of the Punjabi University. It also contains all Punjabi newspapers, magazines, books, diaries and rare manuscripts pertaining to the 19th and 20thcenturies. More than 120 Punjabi newspapers and periodicals published anywhere in the world are available in this Library.

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) is a constitutional body in India authorized to conduct examinations for appointment to the various Civil Services of India. The Indian Constitution (Part XIV – Services Under the Union and the states – article no. 315 to 323) provides for a Public Service Commission for the union and a Public Service Commission for each state.

The Board of Secondary Education was established in 1951 under an Act of the State Legislature called the West Bengal Secondary Education Act of 1950. The Board was inaugurated by the then Governor of West Bengal Dr.K.N.Katju on 3rd May 1951 and the Board started functioning under the Chairmanship of Sri Apurba Kumar Chanda. The basic task before the Board was twofold.
1.To regulate, control and develop secondary education of the State.
2.To conduct the School Final Examination.

Previously this was done by Calcutta University. The Board was subsequently renamed as West Bengal Board of Secondary Education in 1964, under the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education Act 1963. During its long history the Board was superseded by the State Govt. twice. The first instance was from 1954 to 1963 (Bengal Secondary Education (Temporary Provisions) Ordinance 1954) and the second occasion arose from 1978 to 1980. The Board, an autonomous body, in its present look came into existence from January 1964 with Dr. J.C.Sengupta in the Chair.

The operational ambit of the Board has increased manifold over the years. In 1951 the Board started its journey with 1270 high schools taken over from Calcutta University which increased to 2312 by the end of 1963 and to more than 8000 by the, end of 1975 including some schools outside the territorial jurisdiction of the State. Presently the Board is handling around 10238 numbers of schools.

With the increase in the number of recognized schools, the examinees appearing in the Secondary Examination (School Leaving Examination with a general syllabus) have increased. In 1952, the Board handled only 42000 examinees, which increased to more than five lakhs in 1976 and in 2006 this figure jumped to nearly 8 lakhs.
