Even as Praja Rajyam Party was conducting a series of meetings to introspect into the reasons for the party’s debacle in the recent elections, one person who was conspicuous by his absence was Pavan Kalyan, president of Yuva Rajyam, the youth wing of the PRP.

Pavan Kalyan’s absence has raised many an eye brow, as he was an important element of the the party’s campaign in the elections. “He has influenced selection of several candidates, some directly and others indirectly. He was the one who played a major role in the party’s campaign strategy. So, he should have been part of the team introspecting into the party’s defeat in the elections. He cannot simply run away like that,” a party leader said.

Pavan is said to have stopped coming to the party office after the election results. Leaders in his coterie are also making occasional appearance. He is now concentrating on his next film venture, sources say.

It looks like though the political parties have been coming up with tall claims of getting single majorities and forming governments, there are a few who realize the truth and have decided to keep low. And one among them seem to be the megabrothers – Nagababu and Pawan Kalyan.

It is being said that both of them are not to be seen in any press meet after elections. It is also heard that Pawan is not even in shooting and same is the case with Nagababu. Many say that post election they have shied their faces away and even the PRP party office folks say that they are not coming there like before.

However, sources close to both say that since their assignment at PRP is over, both Nagababu and Pawan are easing it out and are not too worried about the result. How much of this is true, we would know in just few days time but till such time both their absence will be causing some buzz.

Now Pawan Kalyan is taking rest in Pune at In-laws residence. After hectic poll campaigning, Pawan wasn’t well. He couldn’t do the campaign before the 2nd phase of polling due to ill health. Several times he was admitted to hospital.

Now Pawan is Pune and taking rest at in-laws residence.

Speaking to the media here today he alleged that the police and the Congress had diverted the attention of the media and distributed money in Tirupati.

I cautioned about such gimmicks when I went there for campaigning. It is the last-ditch attempt by the Congress to stop Chiranjeevi from becoming successful,’’ Kalyan said and wanted the Congress to put a stop to such foolish acts.

He wondered why the police had not conducted searches in the houses of Chief Minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy and Opposition leader N Chandrababu Naidu. Though the Congress had targeted Chiranjeevi, the party would not fear, the YR president declared. The Congress was trying to tarnish the clean image of Chiranjeevi, he alleged.

Power star Pawan Kalyan who was touring the many places of the state during his election canvassing for his brother’s party was struck with vomiting when he was in Vizag.

So he returned back to Hyderabad immediately and now sources close to the star say that he is doing absolutely fine and is recovering from his ailing condition.

Pawan is due to take off with his shooting for the film ‘Komaram Puli’ that was kept on hold due to the elections. This is being directed by the Tamil director S J Suryah and Pawan is pairing up with a new beauty Nikisha in this one.

Meanwhile, his brother megastar Chiranjeevi has also did his bit of canvassing and has got back to Hyderabad.

While Allu Arvind has been busy hatching money making plans, it is heard that the mega brothers are not too happy with the way things are taking shape. The cause for this happens to be the single handed decision that Allu has been taking even in matters of PRP without involving the brothers.

It is heard that Allu has the payment talks of PRP in star hotels and he does not like to get exposed. So while selling tickets, when he was doing one of his meets sitting in a star hotel, it is heard that Pawan Kalyan got the news and he went to meet Allu and be a part of the happening.

However, as soon as the news came in, immediately Allu is said to have checked out of the room. So when Pawan came in, nobody was around. And the room was also not booked on Aravind’s name but with some other. Incidentally, Chiru has got full faith in Allu but then Nagababu and Pawan are not too convinced on that part and so this is said to be causing some friction.

ONGOLE: Yuva Rajyam president Pavan Kalyan has expressed the confidence that the PRP will be able to get absolute majority and Chiranjeevi will become Chief Minister by this time next month.

Addressing an election meeting near Jairam talkies here on Sunday, Mr. Pavan Kalyan recalled his association with Ongole.

He said his father worked as head constable in the Excise Department here when Mr. Chiranjeevi studied in C.S.R. Sarma College.

He said he learnt his alphabets in a street corner school in Gopalanagaram here and imbibed two policies in life – being honest and keep trying till the goal is achieved.

He rebutted the charge of Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy that Mr. Chiranjeevi had done nothing to his native village in West Godavari district.

He said as his father worked in several coastal towns, they considered no single place as their native place for development.

He said that the Congress Government was ridden with corruption.

Had it developed the State there would have been no need for the PRP.
Party’s aim

He said that Mr. Chiranjeevi floated the PRP not to earn fame, power or money but to provide a clean government and serve the people better.

He felt that the PRP would win 80-85 seats in the first phase of polls and an equal number in the second phase to form the government on its own.

Responding to the request of his fans, he said there was no need for him to twirl his moustache or thump his thighs to challenge his enemies. “It is enough if we have a brave heart to oppose corruption,” he observed.
Appeal to voters

He introduced PRP candidates – Parvathaneni Anand for Ongole Assembly seat and Pidatala Sai Kalpana Reddy for the Ongole Lok Sabha seat – and appealed to the people to vote for them.
